A rough weekend!

Last night as we were getting Ryan for bed, we realized that his right cheek was all scratched up. We think he got this from Daddy's 5 o'clock shadow. On Sunday morning, he fell and scratched up both his knees. On Saturday, we noticed that his right eye looked like he has a bit of a black eye - not sure how he got this. Then, while playing in the backyard at Nanny & Pappy's, he stumbled and hit his forehead on a bbq base... yet another bruise. Poor kid! Oh and to top it all off, he's got a nasty cold. His nose is a snot faucet!

He is however happy and "full of beans", as Daddy puts it!

Give Peas a Chance

Ryan loves peas! He fires them into his mouth as quickly as you can put them on his tray! Well, he does this with a lot of food (cheese, cheerios, star puffs) but it's kinda surprising with peas.

My friends over at Apple 'n' Oranges are giving a way a "Give Peas a Chance" onesie. It's super cute and I want to win but if you've got a wee one, you should enter too!

KopyKat

Ryan's always so excited to see his buddies at daycare in the morning, especially Blake, a 2 1/2 year old who doesn't say much to me but chats up Ryan. As soon as I put Ryan down, he runs up to Blake and squeals "HI!", meaning "look at me, look at me! let's play!".

When I picked him up today, he was following Blake around the house saying "duh! duh!" and bending down really low. I soon realized that he was actually saying "Jump!Jump!" because that's what Blake was doing - running and jumping and yelling JUMP!

When we got home, I had to hoist him up to the bathroom sink to scrub his hands because he'd gotten into the toilet water - gross, I know! I need to get a toilet lock. Anyway, he saw my hairbrush on the counter and started to brush the few strands of hair on his head. So funny!

He amazes me every day.

Reinstating the blog

It's been a very long while since I've blogged. But now that Ryan is a bit older and doing some of the most hilarious things, I thought this would be a great time to re-instate the blog that we started when he was just itty bitty...well, not that he was every itty bitty.

So here's an update on our little man. He's walking and has been doing so quite confidently since his 11-month birthday. He says things like Mama and Dada and hi and bye, although not always at the appropriate times, but we're getting there. He's a climber - LOVES to climb up on the coffee table when we turn around for even a second! He's still a good eater. Some of his faves are corn on the cob, goldfish crackers and peas. Ryan's a good sleeper too, with a nice long nap in the afternoon and about 11 1/2 hours overnight.

His latest "funny" that I wanted to share was when the phone rang last week and I picked it up and said "hello?". Ryan picked up the tv remote, put it to his ear and said "Hi!". Looks kinda like the phone... I can see where the confusion came from.

Stay tuned for more updates & funnies!

I did it!

So, I'm just about to hit 4 months and I had a few "firsts" this week. I rolled over the first time. It was so much fun, I did it again and again. Mommy makes me do it as a party trick now.
I also found my thumb. Man, it's the tastiest part of my whole fist!
And lastly, I slept for 9 hours in a row... got up and ate and went back to sleep for a few hours. I gave Daddy 12 hours off and only woke Mommy up only once. I rock!
I got my needles last week and it was AWFUL! the first one was ok, but the 2nd one made me scream. And I was really sleepy for a couple of days... that part was ok too. ;0) Oh and the doc weighed me and I'm 20 lbs!

btw, I would post a super cute picture of me, but blogger won't let me right now. Boo!
